Charlie came in to see me a few weeks ago as part of my model call. As a newborn photographer in Columbus, OH I am always striving to stand out as well as continue to grow. One thing I have done in the past couple of years is work to create my own style. I focus on timeless setups, classic poses and more natural styled portraits. I have also tried to make my sessions less stressful for parents. Some newborn sessions can last up to 4 hours and I just think that’s too long for new parents to sit at a studio. I had Charlie in to see how I could accomplish the poses and setups that parents always want, while making it a smooth transition and not disturbing baby as much. We started the session with Charlie in his white onesie on the beanbag – which is my favorite way to start.
I was so excited to do some of the poses that I would normally do with the baby naked, and often struggle with making the transition and keeping them asleep – with his onesie on!
I hope to keep growing the variety of poses and options that we can capture before taking that onesie off to grow the gallery without interrupting baby’s sleep. (Now let me warn you – every single baby is different and every single session is different.)
I am LOVING the fur poses lately – Whether its ivory, tan or gray – I just love how sweet the babes look on there!
