I am almost out of the crazy fall … which I think – and really hope – is the new “normal”. When I went full time this past year, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I thought I’d be able to increase my business, but I was absolutely terrified. What if the inquiries stopped? What is the bookings stopped? So I prayed. A lot. And thankfully God heard my prayers and he answered! It has been a whirlwind of 6 months (not even!) – and I couldn’t be more thankful.
So as I turn the corner and approach 2019, I want to take a moment to look at the business that I want to run and the work that I want to do. When I began this business I took just about every job that was offered to me … take pictures of your pet frog? Sure! I’d love to! (not really, but you get the point). So now that my business and clientele is becoming more established, I have to step back and realized that there are literally only so many minutes in the day and so many days in the week and in order to have time to focus on the areas I’d like to grow my business, I may have to turn down some of those other offerings. That being said – in 2019 not only do I aim to grow my newborn clientele as I have been, but I’d also like to grow my senior business. I was able to do several more seniors in the fall of 2018 than I had previously, and it gave me a chance to be creative, focus on the art and grow my passion. I LOVE working with newborns, and have no plans to back down from that … but I’m sure its understandable that I’d enjoy the change of working with a subject that won’t cry or pee on me … I hope!
Also – I’m looking for studio space! If you know of any areas for rent or have an in with a commercial realtor – send them my way! If you know anyone looking for a newborn, senior or family photographer in the Columbus area – send them my way!
I started an email list as well as a VIP Facebook if you’re interested in being alerted to session signups, mini sessions, giveaways, blah blah blah (yep, I wrote blah blah blah).
